The purpose of Orbit
Orbit has been created to provide life & health actuaries with their own portable software to use as part of their actuarial toolkit.
Orbit is aimed at individual actuaries.
Orbit may help individual actuaries to independently test the actuarial formulas contained with-in cash-flow projection systems and spreadsheets built by insurance companies.
A principle to Orbit is to make the software as simple to use as possible whilst retaining required actuarial functionality.
This approach enhances the actuary's intuitative understanding of the modelling process and the model output.
